FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

NATURE FOR KIDS AT DEER PARK

Where/When: Wednesday at Deer Park (turn left on Porteous Ave and follow to the end) 10am-2pm

Why Go: Beetles, salamanders, millipedes. The kids will love the hike and peeking under the rocks.  Who knows what treasures they’ll discover!

Pricing:  Free.  Meet at the parking lot.

PAJAMA NIGHT

Where/When: Doodlebug, 641 San Anselmo Avenue, San Anselmo, Friday 6-9

Why Go: cuz’ Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday (a school night). The kids eat pizza and play games, while you have a real grown-up dinner. Ages 3+

Pricing: $30 first child, $25 siblings

VALENTINES DAY COOKIE DECORATING

Where/When:  Marin Country Mart at Larkspur Landing Circle Saturday 9am-2pm

Why Go: Sugar cookies + icing + creativity = Pure Inspiration

 Pricing: Free

WHALE WATCHING

Where/When: Point Reyes

Why Go: Watch the migration of the grey whales.  The kids will be in awe.  Don’t forget your binoculars, coat and hat!

Pricing: Free. It does get busy so call ahead.  There’s also a shuttle bus from Drakes Beach.

PETER PAN LIVE MUSIC FOR SILENT FILM

Where/When: Smith Rafael Film Center,1118 Fourth Street, San Rafael, Sunday 3pm

Why Go:  Because there really is magic.  A full orchestra accompanies this rare silent film.  Remember to bring your pixie dust!

Pricing: $15 general, $12 children and CFI members
