Hazy Morning: Corte Madera Photo Of The Week

CORTE MADERA, CA — Patch reader Sophie Fleming shot these sobering photos of Marin County from Ring Mountain as a nearby fire shrouded the area in smoke on Wednesday morning.

A layer of smoke lingered over parts of Marin County, as captured by Fleming, as firefighters worked to quell a fire in Corte Madera that spurred evacuation orders around 9:15 a.m.

"Taken this morning when smoke and fire were in full force; followed by sirens and evacuation sirens in the lower area," Fleming told Patch in an email. "Nerve-wracking times! Especially since I just returned from ash falling on me in South Lake Tahoe yesterday and tons of smoke."
