Larkspur, Corte Madera Celebrate National Night Out Tuesday

The Central Marin Police Authority is hosting station block parties 5-8 p.m. this evening at the stations in Larkspur and San Anselmo.

LARKSPUR-CORTE MADERA, CA – Community members and law enforcement officers across the country, county and the communities of Larkspur and Corte Madera, will celebrate National Night Out Tuesday night. The annual event promotes community-police partnerships, crime prevention and neighborhood camaraderie.

This is the second year the Central Marin Police Authority – which covers Corte Madera, Larkspur, San Anselmo and portions of Greenbrae – is hosting station block parties.

Block parties will take place from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the stations in Larkspur and San Anselmo. Community members will have a chance to not only meet Central Marin Police Authority officers, but also public safety partners from the California Highway Patrol and Marin County Sheriff’s Office, as well as Larkspur, Corte Madera and Ross Valley fire departments. There will be games for kids, the opportunity to get an up-close look at police and fire vehicles, and free hot dogs for everyone.

The Larkspur station is located at 250 Doherty Drive, and the San Anselmo station is located at 525 San Anselmo Ave.

Created in 1984, National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Last year, more than 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities across the United States, Canada, U.S. territories and military bases participated in the event.
