Man Killed In Larkspur Crash Identified

Marvin David Dubon-Nunez, 27, of Richmond, crashed into the back of a parked big-rig trailer.

LARKSPUR, CA – The Marin County Sheriff's Office has identified a man who died in a crash near Larkspur on Saturday as Marvin David Dubon-Nunez, 27, of Richmond.

Dubon-Nunez's Chevrolet Impala crashed into the back of a big-rig trailer that was parked on the shoulder of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard west of San Quentin State Prison's west gate around 6 a.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The big-rig driver was sleeping in the berth of the truck at the time of the crash. He was towing a flatbed trailer with a large construction vehicle on board and had pulled over to the right shoulder to sleep, CHP
officials said.

The big-rig driver was unaware of the crash until a witness stopped to help and contacted him, according to the CHP.

The crash closed the eastbound lane of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard until 8:20 a.m.

Dubon-Nunez was pronounced dead at the scene.
