Marin Girl Shot By Arrow Receives Box of Taylor Swift-Themed Goodies

While March 26 was likely the scariest day of 8-year-old Nadine Hairston's young life, April 2 has to go down as one of the most exciting.

Hairston, the Marinwood resident and Mary E. Silveira School third grader who was shot in the leg by an arrow last week while on a field trip to Berkeley's Lawrence Hall of Science, received a care package from pop singer Taylor Swift, whose songs Hairston says she sang while she was being rushed to the Children’s Hospital in Oakland.

The package, which was given to Nadine by her mother, Alicia Hairston, as a news crew from CBS 5 filmed them, contained a backpack and other Swift-themed goodies, according to the CBS report.

Hairston, who has become #BraveNadine on Twitter, has had an outpouring of support since an arrow struck her left thigh while she was on field trip in Berkeley. As more people heard about how she sang Taylor Swift songs on her way to the hospital to keep calm, a Twitter campaign was launched to get Swift’s attention. Swift came through on Tuesday.
