"The setting sun appeared to have played a factor," police said.

CORTE MADERA, CA – A 27-year-old man was struck and injured by a vehicle as he crossed Tamalpais Drive in Corte Madera Wednesday at approximately 6:30 p.m., authorities said.
The Central Marin Police Authority said it received numerous 911 calls reporting the collision where a pedestrian in a crosswalk was hit by a black BMW in the westbound number two lane of Tamalpais at the intersection with Lakeside Drive.

"Early investigation indicates that the driver was traveling at or near the speed limit, however the setting sun appeared to have played a factor," the agency said. "It does not appear that drugs or alcohol played a factor in the collision."
Westbound Tamalpais Drive was reduced to one lane during the aftermath, and the victim was transported to Marin General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the department said.
