Police: Replica Weapon Found At Redwood High School In Larkspur

Police determined a student had been in possession of an "airsoft" type replica weapon and not an actual firearm.

LARKSPUR, CA – The Central Marin Police Authority investigated a report Thursday that a student at Redwood High School in Larkspur was possibly in possession of a firearm, but officials later determined the item to be a replica weapon.

A school official contacted police after classes at approximately 3:12 p.m., reporting that a student was possibly seen with a firearm earlier in the day. Police contacted a female student who was still on campus and determined that she had been in possession of an “airsoft” type replica weapon and not an actual firearm.

Officials said the “airsoft” was given to her by a male student to hold on to. She later returned it to the male student. Police checked the campus for the replica weapon and determined it was not at the school site.
