Trio Busted For Alleged Car Break-Ins At Corte Madera Shopping Center

BREAKING: Among the loot recovered were a victim's handbag, a credit card, plus a laptop stolen earlier in Novato, police said.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Police arrested three people suspected of burglarizing vehicles in Corte Madera on Friday, according to the Central Marin Police Authority.

At 7:20 p.m., a security officer from the Corte Madera Town Center reported a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the shopping center.

According to police, a person was inside the parked vehicle while two suspects were looking into parked vehicles nearby. The vehicle then left the shopping center and was last seen driving toward another shopping center nearby called the Village at Corte Madera, located at 1618 Redwood Highway.

Police responded to the Village at Corte Madera and located the suspect vehicle near a parked car with a broken window. The registered owner of the burglarized vehicle was contacted and she discovered that her purse was stolen, however it was located underneath another vehicle parked nearby, police said.

An investigative traffic stop was conducted on the suspect vehicle and the occupants were contacted. One of the victim's credit cards was located inside the suspect vehicle's center console, police said.

Officers also located a laptop inside the vehicle, which they learned was stolen in a separate burglary that occurred in Novato earlier that evening.

Police identified the suspects as San Francisco residents Kadeja Tidwell, 23, Raheem Rogers, 22, and Khalida Peterson, 21. All three suspects were arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, and
possessing stolen property.
