Water District Replacing Water Storage Tank on Fern Canyon Road
MMWD Work Begins this Fall

This fall, Marin Municipal Water District will be replacing the existing 60,000 gallon redwood water storage tank on Fern Canyon Road with a new 100,000 gallon steel tank. The project is necessary to ensure the integrity of the District’s water distribution system and adequate flow for fire protection.
In addition to short periods of water service interruption, there will be construction traffic accessing the site by way of E Blithedale Ave, Throckmorton Ave, Old Mill St, Lovell Ave and Summit Avenue to Fern Canyon Rd.
Site work will begin in August, including clearing and grubbing, installation of temporary tanks, and trenching for new electrical conduit and water piping. The old tank will be removed in October. The new tank should be installed, put into service, and the project completed by the end of January.
The MMWD engineer in charge of the construction is Steve Suskind, Senior Engineer,415-945-1517
