'World's Largest Turkey' to Roost Again at Town Center Corte Madera
Giant Turkey will collect donations of canned food and dry goods for Marin families in need

Town Center Corte Madera proudly welcomes the World’s Largest Turkey which will gratefully collect donations distributed by the SF-Marin Food Bank to Marin families in need this holiday season beginning on Friday, October 23 through Friday, December 4, 2015. This year marks the Giant Turkey’s 22nd annual appearance at Town Center – this year the Turkey will be “roosting” in the courtyard at the north end of the Center, between Il Fornaio and the Container Store. After December 4th, the SF-Marin Food Bank donation barrels will be located in the Town Center Professional building at the south end of the Center near the free holiday gift wrapping table. www.shoptowncenter.com
The Giant Turkey has delighted shoppers and their families every holiday season with its bobbing head and hatch for donations of canned food, non-perishable items and toiletries which will eventually be collected and distributed by the SF-Marin Food Bank. Over the years, the turkey has collected nearly 70 tons of canned food, non-perishable items and toiletries. These donations will help the Food Bank fill holiday baskets with useful items for those in need. It’s become a holiday tradition for families who find the Giant Turkey a wonderful way to support their community with donations for Marin County residents who need assistance.
“We are very happy to host the Giant Turkey again this year,” said Monty Stephens, General Manager of the Town Center. “Town Center businesses enjoy watching families participate in the food drive and especially the children who take great pleasure in ‘feeding’ the Giant Turkey with specialty items they know will help others during the holidays.”

“The Food Bank serves over 144,000 individuals each week in San Francisco and Marin, and we expect to see even more people turn to us during the holiday season,” says Paul Ash, executive director of the SF-Marin Food Bank. “This is a time when people come together with family and friends to express gratitude, and we’re deeply grateful for the Giant Turkey food drive. It helps us put food on the tables of our neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet. Families, children, seniors, and individuals with low-incomes in Marin will have a brighter holiday because of it.”
