Deputies Respond to Report of Attempted Armed Robberies
No witnesses or suspects located in connection to incidents alleged to have taken place Monday night around Federal Boulevard and College Avenue.

Sheriff’s deputies were on the lookout Monday night for an older gray Honda after a report that a group of armed men were trying to rob people at gunpoint in the area around Federal Boulevard and College Avenue, according to authorities. A search of the vicinity did not turn up witnesses or suspects.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, a call was received about 7:07 p.m. Monday from a person who said the men were driving up randomly to people and demanding items from them. The person reporting the incident said an African American man in a red shirt sitting in the passenger seat of the car had a black handgun and ordered him to hand over the contents of his pockets. The witness said he didn’t have anything on him.
When deputies responded to the scene, according to authorities, the witness was no longer there. Deputies cleared the call about 7:20 p.m.

No other suspect information was available. The car is reported to be a gray 1990s Honda.
