Home Invasion Shooting Suspects in Court Wednesday

The father and son accused in the Sunday night shooting will be arraigned in El Cajon.

The duo charged with critically wounding a man during a home invasion robbery in Lemon Grove is scheduled to be arraigned in El Cajon Wednesday morning.

Gregory Alan Jewell, 49, and Joshua Alan Wineski, 22, who are father and son, were booked on suspicion of robbery and assault with a firearm, according to jail records.

A man who lives in the home in the 1800 block of Bakersfield Street was shot multiple times Sunday night, according to Jeff Weiss, a San Diego County Sheriff's Department communications supervisor, during the home invasion robbery.

Initially reported as a hot prowl at 10:16 p.m. Sunday, a witness intentionally punctured a tire on the suspects’ vehicle before they fled, authorities said. The sound of a vehicle being driven on a flat tire led sheriff’s deputies to the alleged gunmen, who were arrested near Lemon Grove Avenue and Broadway.

Weiss said two firearms were recovered from inside the vehicle.

Bail has been set at $100,000 for each man, according to jail records.
