Lemon Grove Deputy Honored by MADD for DUI Arrests
Deputy Felix Santiesteban has been recognized by the organization two years in a row.

Deputy Felix Santiesteban of the Lemon Grove Sheriff’s Station was honored by the San Diego County chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving as an Outstanding DUI Officer of the Year. The ceremony took place Tuesday at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in San Diego.
Santiesteban, who has been recognized by the organization two years in a row, made 85 drunken driving arrests last year. He was among 33 law enforcement officers from throughout San Diego County honored by MADD for their commitment to keeping the public safe from intoxicated drivers.
Eleven officers also received the 2011 Century Award for netting 100 DUI arrests or more.

The deputies who received the award were collectively responsible for nearly 700 drunk-driving arrests last year. Sheriff Bill Gore handed out the awards to Santiesteban and six other deputies being honored:

Deputy Aaron Meleen – Poway Station, 70 arrests
Deputy Agustin Rosas – San Marcos, 51 arrests

Deputy Kenneth Werner – Vista Station, 72 arrests
