Today at Summer Camp we played with tiny little coffee filters and markers. The children made a large circle with different colors of markers. Then they put them on top of a cup, added a few drops of water and *magic*!! The colors in the markers separated and spread out.
The most interesting was black because it shows that it is made of brown and blue. We tried many colors on one filter and also dots along the bottom and held vertically. The children were shown how a black Sharpie marker and a Design art marker do not spread and separate because they are permanent markers.
