SDSU Student Hit in Head with Beer Bottle

Campus police are asking for the public's help in finding the suspect.

A San Diego State student was struck over the head with a beer bottle by an assailant at a residence hall on campus, university police said today.

The student was inside his unit at Villa Alvarado Residence Hall when he heard screaming and yelling outside and opened his front door to investigate about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego State police. He was immediately struck over the head with a beer bottle, causing a laceration to the top of his head, police said.

The assailant, a white man in his 20s with short blond hair, fled in an unknown direction, police said. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the assault was asked to call SDSU police at (619) 594-1991.
