Snack Table = Independence

Our snack table is up and running every day. Each day a different child is my snack helper. That child helps me set up the table, prepare the snack, and helps clean up after snack. I like the independence I am seeing! Name recognition is helped as they go get their labeled cup. The prior practice in Practical Life is evident as they get their bowl and carefully pour their drink into their cup. Math skills are re-enforced as they see the number for the snack and count out their snack. They show responsibility as they put their dirty bowl in the dirty dishes container and return their cup. Patience and waiting their turn are needed as only 2 children can sit at the snack table at a time.
