Spend the Weekend with Your Family

Your Patch guide to the pursuit of happiness.

Is everyone gearing up to go back to school? There’s clothes-shopping, lunch-packing, uniform-buying and supply-stocking to be done before your child’s first day in class. Patch encourages you to take a break from the errand-running and slow down this weekend with some art and entertainment.

This weekend, from Aug. 26-28, local best bets include a movie under the stars, free ice cream and gifts, a job fair and a summer picnic at the park. If you’re ready to get out of town, El Cajon has an artsy fundraiser and some free concerts, and Qualcomm Stadium is hosting a Soul Food Festival.

Whatever you do this weekend, take a breather. You deserve it.
