Sweep Finds Most Lemon Grove Sex Offenders Complying with Rules
A majority of the city's 60 registered sex offenders are following court orders.

A law enforcement sweep of registered sex offenders Thursday morning in Lemon Grove found a majority of the individuals targeted for the surprise check in compliance with their court-ordered terms, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
Detective April Glover and Detective Jacob Klepach of the Lemon Grove Sheriff’s Station coordinated teams that included officers from the Regional Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) task force and San Diego Police Department, and state parole agents, who fanned out across the city from 7 to 10 a.m. Thursday to contact 60 registered sex offenders identified for the compliance check. A total of 30 law enforcement personnel took part in the operation, said Sgt. Jeff Maxin.
Almost all the subjects contacted were found to be following court-mandated terms. One individual had changed addresses without re-registering as required and deputies were looking for him, Maxin said. Two others were found to have been already in custody on parole violations.

Only a few individuals were not found to be home, according to Maxin, and will be contacted in the near future.
There are 60 registered sex offenders in Lemon Grove, Maxin said. Not all are listed on Megan’s Law website, however, because some don’t meet the criteria. According to the website, there are 47 sex offenders registered in the 91945 ZIP code; 42 list addresses.
