Worldwide “Legacy Letter-writing Campaign” to Bring Honor and Healing to Father-Child Relationships

In order to uplift community, mend relations between fathers and daughters and sons, as well as bring to the forefront a sense of sacred honor, a special "Legacy Letter-Writing Campaign" will commence the day prior to Father's Day, Saturday, June 15, 2013 between 11 and 3 pm PST.

Called "A Father's Honor" the vision is summed up: "A world-wide virtual event that goes viral, where father/child relationships all over the world are mended, and there is a powerful connection reinstated for the betterment of relationships, communities and humanity."

Though the virtual "event" can take place wherever participants are located around the nation and world, a local letter-writing station will be set up at San Diego's Balboa Park, just to the south of the fountain between the Ruben H. Fleet Science Center and the Natural History Museum near Park Blvd.

Sponsored by the San Diego’s Division of MDI (Mentor, Discover, Inspire), an international men's organization, the event is the brainchild of Jim Ellis, a 16-year member of MDI and author of "The Honor Book: Reclaiming the Honorable Life for Your Power, Success and Freedom."

Says Ellis, who is also the International Communications Director of MDI, "I imagine symbolic lights going on all over the country and world as children realize they are good enough, they are appreciated, they are loved. The child's mind makes up negative ideas when fathers do not make certain expressions. The negative self-images are all illusions however. This virtual event will dispel the illusions of despair and unworthiness, and bring empathy, connection and light."
