251 Volunteers Helped Clean Up Livermore’s Creeks

Cigarette butts, cans, shopping carts, furniture, and diapers are just a few of the items collected during the annual cleanup.

LIVERMORE, CA — More than 250 people turned out early Saturday morning to help clean up Livermore's creeks. The annual event, which is hosted by the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District and Living Arroyos, helps to keep the creeks and waterways free from trash and debris.

Cigarette butts, cans, shopping carts, furniture, and diapers are just a few of the items collected during the annual cleanup, which is part of the massive cleanup efforts on California Coastal Cleanup Day each September.

Several volunteers at Robertson Park said they started cleaning up hours before the event started. Those who participated were treated to snacks after.
