7 Apply for School Board Vacancy
School district trustees scheduled to appoint new member on Jan. 21.

Here's information provided by the :
Seven residents have submitted applications for the vacant Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) Board of Education seat created when in November.
A deadline was set for Jan. 4 for the District to accept applications from interested candidates. The Board of Education will formally announce the interview schedule at the Jan. 10 board meeting. There will be a Board Candidate Information Night on Jan. 17 at 6:30 p.m. where candidates will receive an overview of the District.

In addition, there will be a Candidates Forum sponsored by the Parent Club Information Council (PCIC) on Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m. where candidates will be asked questions regarding their interests, experiences, and educational perspectives.
Interviews will be conducted in a Special Board Meeting on Saturday, Jan. 21 between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The appointment will be decided at the conclusion of deliberations. The successful candidate will be installed at the Jan. 24 Board of Education meeting.

All events and meetings will be held in the District Board Room, 685 East Jack London Blvd. and are open to the public and the media.
