Accused Carjacker Nabbed After Pursuit Through Livermore
Police said the man was armed with two guns and had in his possession property stolen during a home break-in.

LIVERMORE, CA – A 37-year-old man suspected in the armed carjacking of a woman was arrested this week after he led law enforcement on a high-speed chase through Livermore, according to police.
The female victim told officers she was walking to her vehicle Wednesday at about 7 p.m. on the 2100 block of Third Street in Livermore when a man approached, pointed a gun at her and demanded her car keys, the Livermore Police Department said.
Fearing for her safety, she handed over her keys, and after the suspect drove off in her vehicle, she reported the carjacking to police, the department said.

Officers spotted and attempted to stop the vehicle as it traveled north on North Livermore Avenue at Las Positas Road. However, the suspect, later identified as Logan Masterson, fled at high speeds, turned onto Greenville Road, continued east on Altamont Pass Road before eventually stopping on the righthand shoulder, police said.
The suspect resisted arrest, according to police, but officers were able to take him into custody.

Two handguns were found in the vehicle, along with property that was taken in a residential burglary, officials said.
Masterson was arrested on suspicion of carjacking, being a felon in possession of a firearm,burglary, felony reckless evading, resisting arrest and possession of stolen property and metal knuckles.
