• Arrest Made In Livermore Hit-And-Run That Seriously Injured Bicyclist (patch.com) — Livermore residents are learning more about a serious August hit-and-run that left a 64-year-old local bicyclist badly injured on Isabel Avenue. Police say a Modesto man was identified after an investigation and arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, with the case now in the Alameda County District Attorney's hands for potential charges.
   

• Bay Area Cop Choked Son for Not Eating Breakfast Fast Enough, Prosecutors Say (pulptastic.com) — Prosecutors say a San Mateo County sheriff's deputy choked his five‑year‑old son at the family's Livermore home in March after timing the child's breakfast, leading to a felony child abuse charge. The deputy, who remains on paid leave, is seeking mental health diversion into treatment, while Alameda County prosecutors oppose the move ahead of a Sept. 15 pre‑trial hearing.
