• Electric Car Burned For Hours On I-580, Prompting SigAlert (patch.com) — Drivers in Livermore faced major delays Sunday evening after a three-vehicle crash on eastbound I-580 near Greenville Road caused an electric Hyundai to burn for several hours and shut down three lanes. The fire completely destroyed the car but, notably for local commuters, no injuries were reported as the SigAlert stretched into the night.
• ArtWalk returns to downtown Livermore this weekend (livermorevine.com) — Downtown Livermore will be filled with more than 200 artists, live music, and a new Chalk the Walk festival during the free 35th annual ArtWalk this Saturday, Oct. 10. Booths will line First Street, Bankhead Plaza, Livermorium Plaza, and nearby streets, coinciding with a striking life-sized elephant sculpture installation at Bankhead Plaza and Stockmen's Park.
