Anonymous Donor Gives $2K In Gift Cards To Shop With Cop Program

"Thank you to this selfless and gracious citizen. We are very grateful."

LIVERMORE, CA — The holidays will be extra special for several Livermore children in need thanks to the kindness of a stranger. The benevolent person, who wished to remain anonymous, recently donated twenty $100 Target gift cards to the Livermore Police Department’s Shop with a Cop program, police officials said.

“This is simply remarkable because it allowed us to reach additional children, beyond the 32 selected, and make their Christmas special as well,” police said.

Each year, Shop with a Cop is held on a Saturday morning in early December. About 30 Livermore students in need who are selected to be part of the program are picked up at home by officers and treated to breakfast and shopping.

In November, police officers in Livermore gave their razors a break to help raise money for the program. Officers who donated $75 to the fundraiser were able to grow a mustache, goatee, or beard.
