Big Rig Down Embankment, Fire On I-580
Traffic was delayed for hours on the busy freeway.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — All lanes have reopened following injury crash and vehicle fire on eastbound Interstate 580 west of Grant Line Road Thursday. The collision, which involved a big rig and truck, was reported at noon, according to the CHP.
The crash sent one of the trucks over the side of the embankment, which started a grass fire. The wreck prompted officers to close lanes on the busy freeway for several hours.
EB I-580 west of Grant Line Rd. This is exactly why we stress to exit the freeway when possible. Cause still to be determined but this truck was struck while on the shoulder...Can you imagine if this was a small sedan? Luckily minor injuries only... pic.twitter.com/4WHQvn5P8K
