Boutique Hotel In Downtown Livermore Getting Closer To Reality

Presidio Companies of Davis is proposing to develop a three-story, approximately 65,000 square foot, 125-135 room upscale-branded hotel.

LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Planning Commission is poised to recommend the city move forward on a development agreement for a downtown boutique hotel during its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday night. The 1.4-acre site at 2205 Railroad Avenue has long been eyed for a hotel, but the process of moving the project forward has been slow.

Presidio Companies of Davis is proposing to develop a three-story, approximately 65,000 square foot, 125-135 room upscale-branded hotel with 1,400 to 2,000 square feet of conference space and a rooftop deck.

In 2004, the Downtown Specific Plan identified a hotel as a desirable amenity and by 2017 the ball really began moving with establishment of a steering committee and public discussions. Finally, in 2018 provisions were made to sell the Railroad Avenue site to Presidio Companies (Presidio) for the development of a downtown hotel.

On July 22, Livermore city council will take up whatever recommendations the planning commission makes Tuesday about the development agreement. But currently, the agreement calls for design completion on the hotel by March 2020, building permit issuance by May 2021, and hotel opening no later than September 2022.
