Brandon Crawford, Former Tri-Valley Resident, Featured in New SF Giants #TBT Ad
In the commercial, the well known shortstop says, "When I grow up, I'm going to crush it for you guys."
PLEASANTON, CA: Brandon Crawford’s famous Candlestick Park photo was the inspiration for a recent San Francisco Giant’s advertisement called “Crawford’s Destiny.”
The original San Francisco Chronicle photo of the adorable but extremely sad five-year-old Pleasanton resident was taken at Candlestick Park in 1992.
In the 2016 commercial, Crawford, dressed in his memorable red shorts, white sneakers and backward baseball cap says, “When I grow up, I’m going to crush it for you guys.”

Crawford's family has always been die-hard San Francisco Giants fans. Mike and Lynn Crawford were season ticket holders and took Crawford and their other children to baseball games at Candlestick Park as well as AT&T Park in the 1990s and 2000s. The family even has a commemorative brick at AT&T Park. They also attended the final game of the 1992 season when it appeared the Giants were going to move to Tampa, Florida.
The Foothill High School alum, born in Mountain View and raised in Pleasanton, is one of the few homegrown players to join the ranks of a Bay Area team and appears to be here to stay after snagging a $75 million contract in 2015. The All-Star has garnered a Golden Glove and Silver Slugger award since his debut in 2011. Watch the full ad here.
