An Afternoon of Live Music & Wine at Charles R Vineyards

McGrail Vineyards and Winery

Join us in the Barrel Room at McGrail for a fun night of Mahjong, wine, and good company! All skill levels are welcome, from seasoned players to complete beginners. Bring your own Mahjong set if you have one or borrow one of ours! We’ll have someone to help answer questions for beginners, but this is a casual game night type atmosphere where everyone can learn together!

Reserve a table for up to 4 people. If you’re coming solo or need to join a group, we’ll do our best to pair you with other players. After purchasing your ticket, you’ll be able to let us know whether you’re bringing your own set or need to borrow one.
Wine will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle. No food truck will be on site, but guests are welcome to bring snacks to enjoy while they play!
$5 per person

Every strong college application starts with an essay that sounds like you. In “From Pen to Portal: Writing Strong College Application Essays,” a 3-session workshop for high school seniors and college transfer students, long-time LPC English professor Heidii McMichael will help you tackle the UC PIQs and the Common App essay with confidence and voice. You’ll walk away with a polished essay ready to submit, and we’ll also cover brag sheets, supplemental essays, scholarship statements, and how to make every part of your application tell your story. The workshop meets October 13, 20, &amp; 27 2026, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at LPC in room 21107. The cost is $59 for three classes plus one free, optional Zoom edit session. (Workshop is not for college credit.) LPC students can also follow up in the RAW Center for more help on their application essays. Come sip, step, and kick at Wood Family Vineyards! Each night the amazing line dancing instructor, Shannan Sinclair, will lead dancers of all levels—from first-timers to seasoned pros—through fun, energetic line dancing routines sure to get you smiling and moving.
The classes take place from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesdays. Bring a friend, meet a few new ones, and enjoy a fantastic night out! Entry is only $10 per guest, and wine will be sold by the bottle and glass.
