Cantabella Children's Chorus Performs Dec. 12 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church
Award-winning children's chorus sings 1pm and 4pm at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Pleasanton. Free admission for children under 18.
Cantabella Children’s Chorus presents its annual winter concerts, “Candlelight Starlight,” at 1pm and 4pm on Saturday, Dec. 12 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 4001 Stoneridge Dr, Pleasanton.
Celebrating light from the perspectives of Christmas, Hanukkah and Diwali, the award-winning youth (K-12th) chorus will perform folk, classical and contemporary selections in nine languages with live music accompaniment. In addition to familiar songs such as “Silent Night” and “This Little Light of Mine,” the choristers will perform a new carol by British composer John Rutter, an Estonian composition about the aurora borealis (northern lights), upbeat Hebrew music and a joyous Sanctus by Leonard Bernstein. The program also features a southern Indian Diwali song with professional choreography by a classical Indian dancer.
Tickets cost $22 per adult, sold online and at the door. Admission is free for children under 18 (up to three per adult).
