Careless Act

I cleaned up debris from a smashed glass jar left in the center of Skylinks Court sitting out there since Halloween night. I realized how this one thoughtless act could endanger the lives of several preschoolers that play in the area. Parents are good about sitting out there supervising play. Our court is very safe, but sometimes those little guys venture onto the court by foot, scooter, ride on car or chase down a runaway hand control remote toy. I've seen a few take a fall too - landing on broken glass could mean a hospital visit. It's not just car tires that could pick up strips of jagged broken glass or get a blowout. The glass wasn't just dropped accidentally either - it was literally thrown hard - I found a couple of ground up crater looking impact points on the street that tell the story of how it happened. If anyone knows who was responsible, or has video footage, please contact the Livermore police. One not so terrible side effect - I'll make sure one of our surveillance cameras will be pointed to record activity on the court.
