Chabot-Las Positas College District Names Chancellor Finalists
The three will answer questions this week at two forums open to the public at the community colleges in Livermore and Hayward.

LIVERMORE, CA – Three finalists in the running for chancellor of Chabot-Las Positas Community College District will participate this week in two forums open to the public in Livermore and Hayward, the district announced Sunday.
"We recruited a highly competitive pool of candidates, and the finalists were selected from a large and outstanding group of candidates from throughout the region, state and nation," college officials said.
The three selected are: Lisa Avery, president of Portland Community College, Sylvania Campus, in Portland, OR; David Dore, campus president and vice chancellor of workforce and economic development at Pima Community College District in Tucson, AZ; and Walter Tribley, superintendent/president of Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey.

Each finalist will participate in the forums, which are free and open to faculty, administrators, staff, students and the general public, and will include a written question-and-answer session. Attendees can fill out feedback forms which will be collected at the end of each forum and given to the Board of Trustees for review.

Tuesday, Dec. 11: Las Positas College, 3000 Campus Hill Drive, Livermore, B1000 Lecture Hall (new building on campus)
- Lisa Avery -9:30-10:30 a.m.
- Walter Tribley -11:00-12:00 p.m.
- David Dore -12:30-1:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 12: Chabot College, 25555 Hesperian Blvd., Hayward, Stage One Theater
- Lisa Avery- 3:00-4:00 p.m.
- Walter Tribley - 4:15-5:15 p.m.
- David Dore - 5:30-6:30 p.m.
The district is seeking a successor to Jannett Jackson, who resigned in August. Two interim chancellors, Susan Cota and Thomas Fallo, have served since August.
Video recordings of the forums will be made available by Friday, Dec. 14.
Prior to her role in Portland, Avery was the vice provost of Community Colleges of Spokane, WA, and has earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work and a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Ball State University in Muncie, IN.
Dore, meanwhile, was previously was dean of instruction for Career and Technical Education at Maricopa Community College District (Mesa Community College) in Mesa, AZ, and has earned a Doctor of Education from Pepperdine University, a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., a Master of Education from Boston College in Massachusetts, a Master of Theological Studies (Ethics) from Santa Clara University, a Licentiate of Philosophy in Ethics from Gonzaga University in Spokane and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Gannon University in Erie, PA.
Tribley has earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry and Biophysics from Washington State University, a Master of Natural Science in Biological Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Science Education and Biological Sciences from the University of Idaho, and previously was vice president of instruction of Wenatchee Valley College in Wenatchee, WA and chief administrative officer of WVC - Omak Campus, in Omak, WA.
