Chabot-Las Positas Community College District Appoints Livermore Man to Fill Vacant Trustee Seat
The seat was left vacant by Dr. Barbara F. Mertes who retired in December.

The Board of Trustees of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District unanimously voted to appoint William Macedo of Livermore to fill the vacancy for Trustee Area 7.
Macedo and his family have lived in Livermore for more than 40 years and Macedo is a graduate of Chabot College and California State University, East Bay. For the past 4 years Macedo has been a member of the Chabot-Las Positas Community CollegeDistrict’s Measure “B” Citizens’ Oversight committee. The Committee is charged with reviewing expenditure reports to ensure that bond proceeds are used only for the purposes set forth in Measure B, and that no bond proceeds are used for any teacher or administrative salaries or other operating expenses.
“I am extremely delighted I was selected and I look forward to working with the otherBoard members,” said Macedo.
Macedo will be sworn in at the Board’s regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, February 17th at Las Positas College, 3000 Campus Hill Dr. in Livermore. He will serve on the Board until the next election in November 2016.
The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District includes Chabot College in Hayward and Las Positas College in Livermore. The District offers higher education opportunities to the residents of Union City, Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Castro Valley, Pleasanton, Dublin, Sunol and Livermore.
