Livermore Crash Under Investigation: PD

Fire officials said the driver was not wearing his seatbelt.

LIVERMORE, CA — Police in Livermore are investigating a collision involving 1932 hot rod that hit a tree Thursday morning. The crash was reported at about 9 a.m., according to the Pulsepoint phone application.

The elderly male driver, who was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries, according to fire officials.

"Seatbelts not only save lives but limit injuries as well," Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Battalion Chief Jack Neiman-Kimel said. "Please remember to wear your seatbelt when in a moving vehicle."

The collision forced police to close eastbound Concannon Boulevard between Isabel Avenue and Prima Drive for several hours.
