Eagle Scout Award for Grayson Hall
Grayson's Eagle Project restored the Granada High School track and field / throwing area.
Grayson Hall has qualified to become an Eagle Scout and will receive the award at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on February 10, 2024. Grayson is the son of Douglas and Robyn Hall of Livermore. He is a member of Troop 900 sponsored by the American Legion, Post 237. Grayson appreciates all the support and work of his scoutmaster, Jeff Orthmann and for his dedication to scouting and help along the way.
Grayson has been active in Scouting and has held leadership positions as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Troop Guide. Grayson loves scouting because he was able to experience and enhance his leadership experiences and participate in group activities like backpacking through Joshua Tree National Park and many camping and fishing outings, which gave him a great appreciation for nature. Grayson had 50 nights of camping qualifying him for the National Outdoor Awards for Camping with a gold device. He had over 80 other service hours including 26 conservation hours and earned 27 merit badges.
For his Eagle Scout project, Grayson did a restoration project for the Granada High School Track and Field Throws area by restoring the rings and equipment lockers, including new paint to make them look beautiful. He organized 15 scouts and leaders for a total of 125 project hours. For the project he planned and led the removal and reconstruction of the wood borders, stripped, and repainted the lockers, boxes, and toe rings, and removed weeds & debris and releveled the throwing field with sand. In the September 15, 2023 Matador News, the project was featured with photos. Principal Clark Conover wrote, “It turned out great! Thank You Grayson.”
