Tim Rose will share his knowledge of many unique minerals that were discovered in California, discussing a number of locations including a bit of history and special insight on the geological conditions in each location. Some locations include a Benitoite mine in San Benito County, the Crestmore Quarry in Riverside, and barium silicate minerals from Fresno and Mariposa counties.
Tim Rose is a LLNL geochemist and mineral-collecting enthusiast who has great knowledge of unique minerals and their occurrence. Recently, he discovered two new minerals in California that have been named in his honor: Timroseite and Paratimroseite.
