Five Injured in Crash with Big-Rig on I-580 in Livermore

The collision occurred just before 11:52 p.m. on Tuesday

Five people suffered major injuries late Tuesday night after a car struck a big-rig, Livermore Pleasanton Fire Battalion Chief Joe Testa said.

According to Testa, there were six occupants in the car when the crash occurred on westbound I-580 at Greenville Road.

“Five were transported to area trauma centers— three by ground and two by air,” Testa said.

Testa says the sixth occupant and the big-rig driver were uninjured.

“All appeared to be male teens,” Testa said. “CHP was on scene and handling the investigation.”

California Highway Patrol officer Tyler Hahn said the car involved was a sedan and it is believed that the injured occupants will recover from their injuries.
