Five Months After Car Crashed Through Livermore Building, Supercuts Celebrates Grand Reopening
To thank those who helped on the day of the collision, Supercuts will donate to local charities selected by police and fire officials.
LIVERMORE, CA — Five months after a car crashed into Supercuts in Livermore, the popular downtown salon has completed its remodeling and is celebrating a grand reopening this month. A 76-year-old man who was attempting to park his car likely suffered from “pedal confusion” and hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing him to drive through the salon and another First Street business in August, police officials said. Amazingly, no one was injured during the collision.
Since the crash, the salon, which is owned by Leeza Popa, has been remodeled and remained open for business during the renovations.
"Luckily no one was hurt, but the damage to the store was major," the company said via social media. "We have since remodeled and both the store and vibe is better than new!"

To celebrate the reopening, Supercuts will donate all of its proceeds generated on Jan. 23 to local charities as a thank you to the police officers and firefighters who responded to help the day of the crash. Local dignitaries are expected to attend the event, and refreshments will be provided.
