Free Community Compost Giveaway for Livermore Residents
City of Livermore Celebrates Earth Day with Free Community Compost Giveaway Event for Livermore Residents
Livermore – The City of Livermore is celebrating “Earth Day” with a Community Compost Giveaway. It will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015, from 9 am – 12 pm, or until supplies last, in the parking lot of Livermore’s Maintenance Service Center at 3500 Robertson Park Road.
The compost will be given away for free with a limit of two bags per Livermore household.
When Livermore residents put their food scraps, food-soiled papers, and yard trimmings into their Organics cart, the material is collected and processed into a rich soil amendment called “compost.” Livermore residents can add this amendment to their garden soil to “close the loop” on composting.
