Livermore’s West Coast Fury U-11 girls was working on all cylinders versus La Morinda United in an 8-1 victory at Altamont Park April 6th.
The victory improved the 2013 Spring NorCal Champs to 2-0 after starting off the season with a 2-1 away victory against Ajax United.Kelena Brongiel, Kassidy Brackett, Kaleigh Castillo each had two goals while Bella Romero and Trinity Sandridge rounded out the scoring.
The Fury scored quickly thanks to high defensive pressure and went up 2-0 early on goals from Brongiel and Brackett, and the ladies from Livermore never looked back with a much improved effort from the preivous week. Strong midfield play led by Kourtney Kessler, Faith Rogers, Alivia Ganz and Emily Hunt kept La Morinda on their heels most of the game with improved passing combinations. A solid defensive effort led by Gracie Alfonso, Angie Alfonso, Celina Garcia and Leela Amin allowed The Fury to have the upper hand throughout the match.
The Fury next face Diablo FC on April 12th before a brief Easter break
