Great Blue Heron At Las Positas: Livermore Photo Of The Day

LIVERMORE, CA — Here's a hole-in-one shot from Jim Erickson, who captured this beautiful Great blue heron reflected in a lake at Las Positas Golf Course Sunday.

The Great blue heron (not to be confused with the Little blue heron) is found in wetlands all over most of North and Central America, and occasionally in South America, the Caribbean, and coastal Spain. They feast on fish and are known to adapt well to almost any wetland habitat in their midst.
