LIVERMORE, CA — A California Army National Guard helicopter will land at Croce Elementary School in Livermore on Wednesday morning, school officials said. The UH-60 Blackhawk and its pilot are part of a character education lesson about caring.
School officials said the captain will teach students about how an army helicopter crew cares for people during emergencies and natural disasters. The chopper will land around 8:30 a.m. and take off at about 1:30 p.m.
District officials notified residents about the landing through social media channels and Principal Kendra Helsley sent a letter to parents and the community notifying them of the unique guest visiting the school.
