A 5-year-old Brentwood boy suffering from cancer gave a nimble police officer a run for his money during an impromptu dance-off last week in the lobby at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco.

Colton “Hulken” Guerra, who suffers from stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer, showed Officer Joe Marte his slick breakdancing moves last Thursday. Michelle Guerra, Colten’s mom, recorded the two dance contenders and shared the video via YouTube. The video has garnered 36,980 views since it was posted.

“This was actually the second visit from Joe at UCSF,” Guerra told Patch. “He lives in Brentwood like us. He and his wife have such big hearts and have been big supporters of Colten throughout this journey. Joe and his wife have told us that Colten has been an inspiration to them during their own journey.”

Guerra said they were in between procedures when Marte messaged her to say he wanted to visit. According to Guerra, they had no idea Marte was off duty when he stopped by to see the young boy.

“Colten was dancing around like usual,” Guerra said. “Even though he is battling the evil villain (neuroblastoma) he often has more energy than all of us. This is because we tell him he has super hulk soldiers inside of him fighting this battle for him. He truly believes he is invincible.”

Guerra said Marte’s partner showed Colton a video of Marte breakdancing, which prompted the dance challenge from little Colton.

“Let me see your moves, Joe,” Colten reportedly said to Marte.

Guerra said, “Joe responded, ‘you first!’ That is how this all began in the lobby of UCSF. The next day the chief of SFPD had to come meet this boy who challenged his finest officer. We know, with the amazing support from the community, the wonderful doctors at UCSF combined with Colten’s (nicknamed Hulken) hulk strength, we will win this battle. We believe!”
