LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore-Pleasanton Fire crews knocked down a fire in the garage of a Livermore fourplex Thursday morning, fire officials said. The blaze was reported near Fourth and S P streets in Livermore at 11:34 a.m., according to Pulsepoint.
"The garage was primarily a storage area for the occupants," fire officials said. "Storage was stacked to the rafters on one side of the garage and all over the floor on the other side."
One firefighter was injured during the fire and was treated at the scene.

"Garages are known for storage but good housekeeping can make the difference in a fire," fire officials said. "Keep in mind light bulbs and fixtures can get hot and catch storage material on fire if left on and the storage is too high. Also, it is very important to have a smoke detector in your garage so you or others can be alerted to a fire in its early stages."
