Kids get into the act at Bay Area Shakespeare Camp!

Bay Area Shakespeare Camp (ages 7-13) returns to Fremont, August 3-14 at Temple Beth Torah, 42000 Paseo Padre Pkwy

This popular program (now in its 23rd season) is both fun and enriching! Campers learn all about the world of theater and performance from trained theater professionals in a creative and supportive environment. Experience is welcome but not required.

Shakespeare Camp provides training in:

  • Shakespeare’s rich language
  • Acting and improvisation
  • Voice projection and movement
  • Stage combat
  • Set and Costume design and more!

On the final day, campers utilize their newly developed talents and skills in an abridged performance of Romeo and Juliet (the same title being staged at Free Shakespeare in the Park) or The Lamentable Comedy of Pyramus and Thisbe (the hilarious play-within-a-play from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, that’s derived from the same source material as Romeo and Juliet). Family and friends are invited to the performances as well as the celebratory post-show cast party!

The camp meets weekdays, from 9am-3pm, with aftercare available until 5:30pm. Scripts, materials and supplies for both weeks are all included in the low fee of $524 (or with aftercare, $664). Need-based scholarship assistance is available (call for information: 415-558-0888). Camp is led by trained teaching artists who provide a fun and supportive environment for all participants.

Make your summer memorable! Get into the act and enroll online or by phoning 415-558-0888. Please note: only one opening available at this session; first-come, first-served!
