The women and children who come to Shepherd’s Gate are seeking to start a new life. They are able shop for free at the thrift store for clothes for job interviews and school as well as items to furnish a new place to live after graduation. Proceeds from the thrift store directly support the women and children at Shepherd’s Gate by providing care, safety, education and encouragement as they rebuild their lives. LIVERMORE, CA – Las Positas College in Livermore and Chabot College in Hayward announced today that all classes are canceled and district and campus offices will be closed through Sunday due to the region's poor air quality from Butte County's Camp Fire. Such essential operations as security/police and critical IT operations, however, will be in place over the weekend, the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District added.
