LHS Fundraiser Will Support Music Program

The fundraiser was planned before a small fire damaged the rental trailer used by the marching band during the recent Foothill Band Review.

LIVERMORE, CA — An overheated grill caused smoke and fire damage to a rental trailer being used to transport uniforms and instruments for the Livermore High School Marching Band following the annual Foothill Band Review on Oct. 28, school district officials said. The small fire, which broke out just a few hours after school marching band won first place in concert, put a slight damper on an otherwise happy the day.

"The trailer was insured by the Band Boosters, a parent organization that supports the LHS Band," school district officials told Patch. School officials said the fire damage was fairly minor.

Supporters of the music program, which includes jazz, orchestra, and marching band, had already planned an online fundraiser to help fund new uniforms, instruments, music and transportation costs before the fire. The majority of the costs associated with high school’s music program are paid for through donations, according to the fundraiser page.
