Livermore Amputee Veteran Enjoys Exclusive Tour of Raiders Team Facility
Christian Valle lost both legs in Iraq. He proudly walked on his prostheses with an exclusive group of veterans.
Christian Valle of Livermore is reminded of his military service every moment of his life. In 2005, he lost both of his legs to an IED in Iraq.
“I’m not able to do as much activity as I used to do, but I’m actually out there giving it my all,” he told KTVU.

On Monday, that meant walking on his prostheses into Raiders team headquarters in Alameda with about 40 wounded warriors. The select group was greeted by players and given a tour of the facility.
Quarterback Derek Carr welcomed the vets, “I know the sacrifice, the courage and the dedication it takes for you all of you to do what you do. For that I’m grateful.”

Valle and the other vets received team memorabilia, autographs and took photos with the players, in addition to taking a VIP tour.
“It’s a good feeling. There’s people out there that supports us a lot, too. But having NFL players, any sports team doing something for local veterans--it’s an awesome feeling.”
The Raider’s “Salute To Service” event is part of an NFL campaign to encourage military appreciation across the league.
