Livermore Eatery Makes Bay Area Best Sandwich List

A new list of the best sandwich restaurants in the Bay Area includes a much-loved Livermore deli and caterer.

LIVERMORE, CA — A properly made sandwich is anything but humble. From piled-high pastrami to ooey-gooey grilled cheese — nothing is quite as satisfying for a filling lunch. You've probably perfected your own favorites in your kitchen, but if you are looking to try a sub shop, cafe or deli, the Bay Area News Group put out a list recently of 16 restaurants to try around the Bay Area.

Several East Bay eateries made the list, including Americano in Livermore.
“The hot sandwiches, which start at $16, deserve your attention and are large enough to feed two, especially with a side of the vinegar-based slaw ($2),” the paper gushed. “There are two dozen to choose from, including a noteworthy salmon BLTA, a meatball hoagie made with sirloin and the King Kong, a gut buster loaded with roast beef, turkey, ham, provolone, jalapeño poppers, slaw and two sauces, the garlicky Godfather and the tangy Mob sauce. Hold the Sinatra.”

The restaurant, located at 978 Murrietta Boulevard, features a number of delicious sandwiches with creative names, like the “Tiger Woods,” (ham, turkey, bacon, provolone, Mob sauce, the works) “Friday I’m In Love” (Pastrami, Swiss, Godfather sauce, Americano Slaw), “Shut the Front Door” (ham, bacon, eggs-over-easy, fries, Godfather sauce), and many, many more.
