2 Found Dead In Possible Pleasanton Murder-Suicide: Police
The deaths were discovered hours after authorities responded to an unrelated fatal shooting near San Ramon.
PLEASANTON, CA — A 64-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man were found dead in a possible murder-suicide in Pleasanton, police said.
On Wednesday at around 7:16 p.m., Pleasanton officers responded to a welfare check at a home on the 4600 block of Jefferson Court, the Pleasanton Police Department said. A nearby tenant was unable to contact his neighbors for several days, and requested officers check on them.
Upon arrival, officers entered the home and found a dead woman with gunshot wounds. In another room, officers found a dead man with a gunshot wound. A handgun was located next to him, police said.

Both individuals appear to have died at least several days earlier.
On the same day, in a home in unincorporated San Ramon, one person was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound, while another woman bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound was hospitalized. The two incidents do not appear to be related, a Pleasanton Police Department spokesperson told Patch.

The woman has been identified as Shelly Wang, who was 64. The man has been identified as Evgeniy Ilin, 39. Police said that Wang, the owner of the home, was renting a room to Ilin.
Police say they are investigating the incident as a potential murder-suicide. The suspect’s motive is not known.
Investigators say this is an isolated incident, with no threat to public safety.
